Credentials
Gene currently serves as the primary consultant to a wide range of successful private clients, including corporations, pensions, and profit-sharing plans, as well as high-net-worth individuals and their families. Gene draws on more than 20 years of experience providing targeted investment advisory, retirement, and estate investment planning strategies in his service to clients.
Gene is the chief investment strategist for the O’Dell Wealth Management Group, and he directs all of the team’s asset allocation strategies and investment selections.
In addition to Series 7, 63, 65, and 24 securities registrations and applicable insurance licenses, Gene is an Accredited Asset Management Specialist®, a professional designation awarded by the College for Financial PlanningTM to professionals who successfully complete educational requirements, pass an exam, and agree to comply with a code of ethics. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Evangel University. Gene has been a Premier Advisor, between the years of 2011 and 2021. This distinction is held by a select group of Financial Advisors within Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network as measured by completion of educational components, business production based on either of the past two years, and professionalism. Additional criteria, including length of service, may also be used to determine recipients.
Out of the office
Gene and his wife, Christine, live in Springfield. They have two boys, (one at home now), a dog, and three cats. Outside of the office, Gene enjoys golfing, hiking, camping, and traveling. He has previously served on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of Springfield from 2011–2018, specifically as Treasurer from 2014–2016. He’s proud to help educate people on Habitat’s mission and helping members of the community with affordable housing. He served as Treasurer for Cub Scout Pack 210 and has been an active volunteer with Boy Scout Troop 239.
